Songs of the Week: 1/11/21-1/15/21

Hey guys, gals, & non-binary pals!

It's me--back with another Songs of the Week post for you! :)

It's been a while since I've posted one of these and, since then, I have curated a lot of good songs for you all. It's almost hard to pick just five songs to bless your week with, but alas, I have to be decisive. Don't worry though! The rest of the tracks will definitely appear in later posts!

Without further ado, here are your Songs of the Week:

1) "Moonjoose" by Sleepy House

"Moonjoose" is my first Sleepy House track and, boy, it is a good one! Its ability to effortlessly relax your mind while providing the perfect in-the-pocket beat to bop to is just incredible. If you need a track to get you through a lazy Sunday, "Moonjoose" is certainly the one! Go listen!

2) "Willow" by The Q-Tip Bandits

First of all, how amazing is this band's name? I love it! Second, wow, what a track. The combination of crunchy brass chords and the smooth tone of an electric guitar is just incredible! The contrast is wonderful, but the interplay of R&B, jazz, and indie rock are even more amazing, showing the unique nature of the group. I highly recommend this one! Go listen!

3) "Never Know" by DLG, Mary Hildeburn

"Never Know" reminds me of if Still Woozy and Mac Miller made a track together, which I simply love. It's ephemeral. It's effortless. And, let me tell you, it grooves! With a flow like Mac and a singing voice like Still Woozy, there isn't much to dislike about the creative genius that is DLG. Plus, the addition of Mary Hildeburn's soft vocals is a decision that only elevated the musical power of this piece. Go listen!

4) "LăVĭNDŭR" by KAMAUU

KAMAUU is a freakin' musical genius and you simply cannot convince me otherwise. Each and every track is a masterpiece in itself, similar to the others, but unique enough to hit your soul differently than the rest. His use of musical elements is so intentional, mixing so perfectly with the soulful lyrics he writes. "LăVĭNDŭR" is a perfect example of his power as an artist. I couldn't recommend this track more, as it actively makes me transcend into another astral plane each and every time! Go listen!

5) "warm glow" by Hippo Campus

Hippo Campus has the ability to create songs that instantly make you wish for warmer days and nostalgia. "Warm glow" is certainly a testament to their craft. Each and every time I listen to this song, I feel as if I am viewing an eternal sunset. The peaceful, yet radiant, tone of "warm glow" makes it irresistible. I cannot express more love for this ephemeral tune. Go listen!

Have a stellar week!

Peace.
